Why can't it be perfect?

What I''ll be writing about today is something completely new to me. A feeling I've never been familiar with and I think many people felt similarily at some point in their lives. As we get older we all notice this one thing - life likes to kick ass sometimes. Even when you think that your ass has already been kicked too many times or when it's just being kicked and for some reason you're thinking it can't get worse. Well, it can. Life can be merciless. I do not want to deny that but I do want to deny identifying being an adult with loosing what all children have - a simple belief that life can be perfect, that you can feel safe, that you can feel carefree and not even think about what bad may come but simply enjoy your life. A couple of days ago I saw this movie "heaven is for real" and there was a boy who almost died and saw Heaven, he said "Heaven is like here but more" (he was 4 yo but I think we all get his message). It proves that he didn't see to many differences between heaven and this world, heaven was just more :) I think most of us can relate to it and remember the times of our childhood when everything was so simple. The thing is, when we were kids someone else took care of us, someone else was doing all the work needed to make us feel like the world was heaven. It was our parents and they were able to do it because they loved us. They were humans just like we are, if they had an ability to make somebody feel like they were in heaven WHY at some point in our lives do we stop believing that we don't have this power. Or maybe we simply don't want it? Maybe it's easier not do put any effort into making our lives and lives of the others happier. But isn't it our CHOICE? Something we can change at any time! We have to be funny in the eyes of God.. We pray for things, great things, things we need and dream of, and when He gives it to us we can't accept the fact that He actually listened. What's the point of praying for something if we don't believe we can get it? God is love and if God loves us He wants the best for us. Why do we fear that something bad may happen to the good things we get in our lives? Why do we even think about losing them? Why, along the way, do we lose the trust that there are good things that may last forever - like our relationships. There are things or people made especially for us, God's gifts. This is what I wish for you and myself - to believe that good things can last forever if we let go of fear and if we never stop taking good care of them. The more we think (or worry) of something the more real it becomes. Let's all give ourselves this gift today and think only about good things that can happen (if we really need to think at all). Sometimes it's just better to smile and enjoy  your life. We never know how long we're gonna be here.. A quote for today to sum things up:

How do you live when it's hard to forgive?

There is no way I can start a hip hop blog than by writing about the rapper who is the definition of hip hop to me. For those of you who have never heard about Dynasty she is ... Naaah, that would've been a good introduction a couple of years ago but if you don't know who Dynasty is now, you definitely have some catching up to do. Briefly tho, she is who she says she is - as simple as that. She's a Star in life's clothing. And to me, this is the most accurate album title describing an artist you will ever see. I've had an opportunity to meet Dynasty personally and she's unbelievably humble and at the same time, well.. The facts are the facts - she's a star. But let's get to the song I wanna tell you about today.

Dynasty - Forgive

I have never met a single person who wouldn't like this one and while it isn't the first Dynasty's joint I heard, it's the one that means the most to me. You can see.. Again - no. You can FEEL DY's genius every second you hear it probably having chills all over your body. This is not something a regular rapper would give to you. It sets you free, it's just what you need in this fast world where things like to get too hectic too often. It's easy to get lost here, you gotta admit that. And you gotta admit that as human beings it's a normal thing that we make mistakes. But sometimes those mistakes chain us to the guilt and it's really hard to move on if you constantly feel that your past is holding you down. That's what I felt when I first heard those words:

Wow... Can you feel how deep it is? And at the same time it feels so simple as if you were building a house out of lego, brick after brick, but you're really getting back on track step by step, slowly, calmly. She shows you the way to forgive yourself, to forgive the others and the importance of the act of forgiveness. You can feel though, that it is not really shown as an act, something that happens once, but rather as a way of living. And it's all done using words so simple everyone will understand it. I think it's a common feature of great people of this world like the pope John Paul II or Martin Luther King. They would also use words very simple but being so sure of their value they didn't need to boast of being sophisticated as they knew that what really matters is the message. And this is what Dynasty does. She speaks more to your heart than to your mind cause after all we seek feelings in life. It would be good to quote dr. Maya Angelou here:

"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.".

And if you want to feel free, if you want to love yourself more, if you want to give more to the others and be a better person - Dynasty will prove to you that you've got all you need to do it. That's why I would say that she is the definition of real hip hop. Real hip hop can change your life.

1st one!

Yo! Since this is the very first post I guess it'd be nice to say a few words about myself and about the reasons for creating this blog. My name's Tomek and hip hop is a HUGE part of my life. That was literally a few words but that's kinda all you need to know here. Besides that, some say I think too much. Well, I gotta admit I do sometimes but generally I find my thinking too much not a bad thing cause in most cases it leads me to finding the truth and for some reason I've always believed that the truth despite being painful sometimes is something that will always reward you with gifts impossible to even imagine when living in a lie. The truth and hip hop will be the two things I will focus on the most here. Having said that I gotta add that when I was younger hip hop hadn't been such a big part of my life but as I got older I found it the most truthful out of all genres. And just to be clear, we're talking about REAL hip hop, the kind that affects your emotions and makes you wanna be a better human being. I'm definetely not talking about the kind of hip-hop feeding your mind with stories about getting more and more money, bitches and boasting about the amount of weed they smoke. And don't get me wrong, I don't think that smoking weed is a bad thing but smoking too much is. The same applies to cultivating it. I mean come on! Is it only me or is there someone else out there who also thinks it's pathethic that amazingly rich people stand on the scene in front of thousands of fans and ask things like "how many of you been smokin weed tonight". Why aren't they aware of the fact that they kinda made it and they don't have to worry about things like money but people out there treat them as their idols and if you have an idol you want to be just like them. And sometimes they want to be "just like them" so badly they can't afford to pay their bills cause they'd smoke all the money they get. And to me, this is running away from the truth, both by fans who try to convince themselves that everything's gonna be fine somehow cause it's so cool to smoke all the time and by the rappers who are either unable to think about the consequences of their message or simply just don't give a shit about ruining people's lives cause I think it's exactly what's happening sometimes, especially when music is important to somebody. Anyway. This is probably the only time I'm writing about it cause I'd rather focus on the rappers I like and find real and truthful both on the stage and outside of it. Things I'll be writing about won't be regular reviews but rather my thoughts about songs or albums that mean something to me and of which I think that more people should hear about cause sometimes they're real life changers...
